Be heard… Digital downloads or physical discs

Let’s face it, we are entering an all digital age in the near future and I was wondering how you some of you felt about the subject.

There are pros and cons to each (I am actually working on an article right now on the subject) but I wanted to hear from you all…

Which do you prefer; all digital or physical media?

i say disks its easyer to me to use for some things, you know it will work as long as you keep it safe as for DD you can get corrupt ect

  1. Yes but it may be hard to keep discs safe from scratching… DD cant be scratched and always can be redownloaded (just playing devils advocate)…

Plus, you can carry all of your media right with you at all times. WIth my iphone, I always have 30+ games waiting for me to play. I dont need to load up and bring 30 cartridges/games….

    Again playing devils advocate….

    BOTH.

I want the original disc because I don’t trust companies to provide re-downloads of previously purchased items. Also the question of transferring games from one device to another (DSi to 3DS, or from an old busted DS to a newer DS).

I thought I would never buy Blu-ray movies cause they had overshot me. I couldn’t really see a difference. But now that they come with the blu-ray AND a dvd copy AND a digital download copy, the value is there.

Do the same for games. Provide the game disc AND allow you to digitally download it (or save it or whatever).

  2. You bring up a very interesting point that I have never thought of…. That would be sweet if game companies did something similar to the movie industry and provide gamers with both a physical disc and a digital download….

    Nice!
